WORLD-BUILDING 101:
With the World-Building 101 course, you’ll be taught step-by-step how to become a god. With tips, techniques and little-known tricks, your story-writing will improve dramatically as you learn how to, literally, build your own world from the ground up. We’ll take you through all the points you’ll want to cover, the physical, psychological, and even the meta-physical aspects of a world, in which your fictional (or non-fictional) story can grow. With the proper world, you open up so many paths for development of your story and its characters.
FAIRY TALES – THE POWER OF THE STORY:
From Grimm to Disney, ancient myths to Perrault to Tolkien’s famous insights, we ask: What are fairy tales, and why are they important in our lives? Who tells the tales? Who wrote them? What are the roles women play in fairy tales? From early tellers of these stories to Angela Carter, Marina Warner, and other writers have examined these questions and drawn from cultures and perspectives from all over the world to find the answers. Now modern writers take on these stories and reinterpret them from new perspectives. So what makes all these stories immortal? And what does it say about us?
